Wegagen Capital Investment Bank (WCIB) has completed the preparation of Sidama Bank’s prospectus, a key document required for approval by the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA). WCIB’s team of local and international experts worked together to finalize the document, which is now ready to be submitted.
The prospectus is a major legal requirement under Ethiopia’s Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021. It provides detailed information about a company planning to offer securities to the public — including its business activities, financial situation, risks, and the terms of the offering. This ensures transparency and helps investors make informed decisions. The law also includes strict penalties for any false or missing information to protect investors.
The announcement was made during a ceremony where WCIB CEO Brutawit Dawit thanked Sidama Bank for trusting them with this important and challenging task. She also presented a certificate of appreciation to Sidama Bank’s CEO, Tadesse Hatiya, for his leadership in completing the process on time.
Tadesse praised WCIB for delivering the prospectus within the agreed timeframe and reaffirmed Sidama Bank’s commitment to continue working closely with WCIB. He added that both institutions will keep strengthening their partnership to support the growth and development of Ethiopia’s financial sector.
