Prize Worth Investment Bank S.C. has joined the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) as a Trading Member. The admission brings the number of firms licensed to trade on the bourse to nine.
The investment bank received its membership certificate on Thursday at a ceremony at the Exchange’s head office. It was admitted after securing a license from the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) and meeting the ESX’s membership requirements.
As a Trading Member, Prize Worth can now execute buy and sell orders on behalf of clients through the ESX trading platform. That gives investors another intermediary through which to access listed securities.
“A strong network of qualified intermediaries is essential to expanding investor access and building market confidence,” said Yodit Kassa, Chief Executive Officer of the ESX. She described the admission as “another step forward for Ethiopia’s capital market.”
The addition matters for a market where trading activity and liquidity remain thin. Each new member widens the channels through which retail and institutional investors can place orders. Over time, that could support deeper participation and more consistent turnover.
The Exchange said it continues to work with its members to ensure intermediaries meet standards on professionalism, operational capacity and regulatory compliance. It also reiterated its aim of broadening market participation and positioning the ESX as a platform for raising long-term capital.
