The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) has granted a capital market business license to Siinqe Investment Bank, officially authorizing the firm to operate as an investment bank in Ethiopia.
The license, issued on December 31, 2025, raises the total number of licensed capital market intermediaries in the country to fifteen. With this approval, Siinqe Investment Bank becomes the fifth licensed investment bank, joining Awash Capital, CBE Capital Investment Bank, Wegagen Capital Investment Bank, and First Addis Investment Bank.
Siinqe Investment Bank is a sister company of Sinqe Bank. In a statement following the licensing, the investment bank said it is prepared to play a significant role in the development of Ethiopia’s emerging capital market by strengthening securities trading activities, enhancing capital-raising capacity for both private and public institutions, and providing experience-based advisory services.
The bank further noted that its entry into the market aligns with broader efforts to support sustainable economic growth through a more robust and diversified financial system.
Ethiopia’s capital market ecosystem currently comprises five investment banks, two licensed securities dealers, and eight licensed investment advisory firms, reflecting steady progress in the development of the country’s capital market infrastructure.
