Awash Bank has invested 70 million birr in ESX with a stake of 7.7%

Awash Bank has announced that it has invested 70 million birr in Ethiopian Securities Exchange.

Banks continue to invest in ESX and so far ESX has managed to increase the amount of investment received from private banks to 217.5 million birr.

Awash Bank has invested 70 million in the Ethiopian Securities Exchange and got 7.7% stake.

Initially, when the ESX began its operations, it received funding of 275 million birr from four state-owned enterprises. Zemen Bank acquired slightly over five percent of the stake with an investment of around 47.5 million birr. Similarly, Siinqee Bank and Global Bank each invested 50 million birr to acquire a five percent share.
