Yetebaberut Beherawut Petroleum S.C. has joined the growing number of companies registering securities with Ethiopia’s capital market regulator, in a process that has so far been dominated by financial-sector companies.

The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) announced that it approved Yetebaberut Beherawut Petroleum’s Registration Statement on September 30, 2026, registering 160,000 existing shares held by the company’s shareholders.

The registration is made pursuant to Article 75 of the Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 and Articles 4 and 29 of the Public Offer and Trading of Securities Directive No. 1030/2024, which require securities offered to the public to be registered with the Authority.

Yetebaberut’s registration marks the participation of a petroleum company in a share-registration landscape that has largely featured banks and other financial-sector institutions, broadening the range of businesses engaging with Ethiopia’s developing capital-market framework.

The registration itself does not constitute a public offering or listing on the Ethiopian Securities Exchange. Rather, it represents the formal registration of the company’s existing securities with the ECMA.
