Oromia Bank S.C. has registered 7,824,963 existing shares with the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA), marking another step in the bank’s participation in Ethiopia’s developing capital market.
The ECMA said it approved Oromia Bank’s Registration Statement on September 30, 2026, and registered the shares held by the bank’s existing shareholders.
The registration was made under Article 75 of the Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 and Articles 4 and 29 of the Public Offer and Trading of Securities Directive No. 1030/2024.
The ECMA noted that securities offered to the public are required to be registered with the Authority under the country’s capital market framework.
The registration adds Oromia Bank to the growing number of financial institutions formally registering securities with the market regulator as Ethiopia expands its securities market infrastructure.
