The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) has approved the registration of 6,785,310 existing shares of Enat Bank S.C., marking another step in the bank’s participation in Ethiopia’s emerging capital market.

In a notice issued on August 27, 2026, ECMA said it had approved Enat Bank’s Registration Statement and registered the existing shares held by shareholders.

The registration follows Article 75 of the Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 and Articles 4 and 29 of the Public Offer and Trading of Securities Directive No. 1030/2024, which require securities offered to the public to be registered with the Authority.

The development comes shortly after Enat Bank partnered with I Capital Africa Institute and FSD Ethiopia to advance what has been described as Ethiopia’s first private-sector Gender Bond. The partnership focuses on structuring the bond, securing regulatory approval and engaging investors.

The registration of Enat Bank’s existing shares adds to the bank’s growing involvement in Ethiopia’s developing capital-market ecosystem, as financial institutions explore new instruments for mobilizing capital and reaching investors.
