Oromia Bank has officially launched three tiers of international Visa payment cards, expanding its services to customers seeking to make payments abroad and conduct international online transactions.

The cards, unveiled at Skylight Hotel, include the Oro Visa Classic, Oro Visa Gold, and Oro Visa Platinum. The bank introduced the services in partnership with Visa, a global digital payments company, and Premier Switch Solutions (PSS), Ethiopia’s first Visa-certified third-party payment processor.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Oromia Bank CEO Teferi Mekonnen said the new cards would expand customers’ international payment options alongside the bank’s existing card services. He added that the products were designed to address customer needs and could be used at payment locations accepting the Visa network.

Oromia Bank Board Chairperson Assefa Seme said that providing modern digital financial services had become an obligation as the world increasingly shifts toward digitalization.

Visa East Africa Cluster Head and Ethiopia Country Manager Yared Endale and PSS Group CEO Ameha Tadesse also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership with Oromia Bank.

The three card tiers target customers who need to make international payments for travel, education, business, online shopping, and other e-commerce transactions.
