Gadaa Bank has reported strong financial growth for the 2025/26 fiscal year, posting a pre-tax profit of 1.01 billion birr, more than double the previous year’s performance as the lender continued its rapid expansion in only its third full year of operation.
According to the bank’s annual performance highlights, total assets rose by 64% to 16.54 billion birr, while customer deposits also increased 64% to 12.6 billion birr, reflecting continued growth in its balance sheet and deposit base.
The bank generated 2.96 billion birr in total income, representing an 82% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, profit before provision and depreciation climbed 121% to 1.27 billion birr, underscoring improved operating performance.
Gadaa Bank’s profit before tax reached 1.01 billion birr, marking a 113% increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
The results come a year after Gadaa Bank became the second bank listed on the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX). The bank was officially listed in June 2025, following approval of its securities registration by the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA). The listing, conducted through an introduction of its existing ordinary shares, positioned the relatively young lender among the pioneers of Ethiopia’s newly established capital market.
Since then, Ethiopia’s exchange has continued to expand, with additional financial institutions including Awash Bank and Abay Bank joining the market, while Gadaa Bank trades under the ticker symbol GDAB on the ESX Main Market.
The latest financial results highlight the bank’s continued momentum as it strengthens its position in Ethiopia’s banking industry while participating in the country’s emerging capital market ecosystem.
