Ethiopost has signed a cooperation agreement with EthSwitch Share Company to jointly implement strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening digital payment and agency banking infrastructure.
The agreement, signed during an official ceremony, focuses on the joint development of an Agent Network Management Application, a system expected to enhance the efficiency, reach, and coordination of agent-based financial services nationwide.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Dagmawi Hailiye, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopost, stated that the partnership will make a significant contribution to Ethiopost’s three-year strategic plan, adding that preparations are underway to move the project into the implementation phase.
Mr. Yilebes Addis, Chief Executive Officer of EthSwitch S.C., welcomed the collaboration, noting that the partnership will play a key role in strengthening online payment systems and agency banking services across the country.
To support the effective execution of the agreement, a Functional Specification Document (FSD) was also signed by Ms. Tigist Bekele, Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopost, and Mr. Abeneazer Lakew, Chief Portfolio Officer of EthSwitch S.C., outlining the technical and operational framework of the project.
Both institutions expressed their appreciation to the teams and individuals whose efforts contributed to the successful completion of the agreement.
