Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) has partnered with Wingu Africa to modernize its digital infrastructure. EEU has now moved important computer systems into Wingu Africa’s Tier III data centre in Addis Ababa — a highly secure and reliable facility.
The new setup is already running smoothly. By using Wingu Africa’s modern data centre, EEU aims to make its digital services more reliable, safer, and faster for millions of customers across Ethiopia.
Michael Debela, CIO of EEU, said the partnership is part of EEU’s plan to improve how electricity services are delivered. “By strengthening our digital systems, we are improving the reliability of our operations and preparing for smarter energy services,” he said.
Demos Kyriacou, Deputy CEO and Co-founder of Wingu Africa, said they are proud to support EEU. He added that hosting EEU’s important systems in a Tier III data centre ensures high security and uptime.
This partnership shows how Ethiopia’s energy sector is working closely with the technology sector to bring better, more modern services to the country.
