Ethiopian Airlines has been named Best Airline in Africa at the 2026 APEX Passenger Choice Awards, reinforcing its position as a leading carrier on the continent and a preferred choice among global travelers.
The recognition is based entirely on independently verified passenger feedback, making it a direct reflection of customer satisfaction and trust. Organized by the Airline Passenger Experience Association, the awards draw on millions of real traveler ratings collected through platforms such as TripIt, covering more than 600 airlines worldwide.
The accolade highlights the airline’s consistent performance in delivering a reliable and seamless travel experience, from booking and boarding to in-flight service and arrival. Ethiopian Airlines has continued to score highly across key metrics, including onboard comfort, service quality, and operational efficiency, as passenger expectations evolve in a competitive global aviation market.
Speaking on the achievement, Group CEO Mesfin Tasew emphasized the importance of customer-driven recognition. He noted that the award reflects the collective effort of the airline’s workforce and serves as motivation to further elevate service standards across its expanding network.
Similarly, Joe Leader, CEO of APEX, underscored the transparency and scale of the award process, stating that Ethiopian Airlines’ win demonstrates its continued leadership in African aviation, particularly in delivering a passenger experience that resonates across diverse markets.
This latest recognition adds to a growing list of international accolades for Ethiopian Airlines, which has steadily built a reputation for operational resilience and service excellence. The airline’s strategic investments in modern aircraft, digital systems, and network expansion have positioned it as a key player not only in Africa but also in global aviation.
