The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) has granted a Capital Market Service Provider (CMSP) license to Gadaa Securities Dealer S.C., authorizing the firm to operate under the Securities Dealer category.
Alongside the core license, ECMA approved the registration of four appointed representatives and endorsed the appointment of six board directors within Gadaa Securities Dealer S.C., completing the firm’s regulatory clearance to commence operations.
The license was officially issued on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, bringing the total number of licensed CMSPs in Ethiopia to 14, while increasing the number of licensed securities dealers to two—a notable milestone as the country continues to operationalize its nascent capital market.
The license was formally presented by ECMA Director General Hana Tehelku, who underscored the importance of securities dealers in building a liquid, efficient, and trustworthy capital market. She highlighted their role in facilitating trading, enhancing price discovery, and strengthening investor confidence through orderly market transactions.
ECMA congratulated Gadaa Securities Dealer S.C. on the achievement and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive, and resilient capital market ecosystem that supports sustainable economic growth and investor protection in Ethiopia.
